E.W. Chittum Elementary School Replacement

The pre-existing, 60-year-old school was replaced with a new, two-story building to reduce crowding and the use of portable classrooms. The school and the parking remained in operation until the new facility was complete. To create environments that encourage student-centered learning, the project combines 21st-Century School Design Concepts. MSA provided environmental sciences, civil engineering, and surveying services. A phase I Environmental Site Assessment, wetland delineation, and surveying laid the groundwork for the site and right-of-way improvements, an erosion and sediment control plan, a site layout, and utility plans. MSA also provided as-builts.
